Ndimu Childrens Home/ Rescue center is a registered charitable organization involved in care and support of abandoned, orphaned and vulnerable children in Nakuru. The home was founded in 2011 from philanthropic principles of helping the needy children. The home is registered by the ministry of Gender and Children affairs and is situated in Ndimu farm, off the old Nakuru-Nairobi road in Lanet area. It is about 15 Km out of Nakuru Town. The home currently has 8 children with one being in need of special care. The home admits new borns and up to 4 years. All the children are admitted through the Children’s Department, which is the legal authority in care and protection of children. The children are usually found abandoned in hospitals or other areas. The home offerscare and support to the children while waiting foster and adoption from interested families. Children who will not be fostered or adopted will be taken care of till maturity of 18 years.
The home intends to admit 20 or more children in the next 6 months, and will cater for the children’s accommodation, food, clothing, medical care and education.
