Access for Life Uganda (AFLU) is a grassroots nonprofit organization supporting vulnerable teenage mothers and out-of-school girls in rural communities of Western Uganda. Many young women in these areas face poverty, early pregnancy, and limited opportunities for education or employment. AFLU was founded to restore hope and create practical pathways toward economic independence. Through mentorship, small business support, and community programs, AFLU empowers young women to rebuild their lives and provide for their children. The organization focuses on sustainable empowerment by supporting entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and safe community spaces where young mothers can grow, learn, and support each other.

Fundraising campaigns :

    1. Sustainable Capital Growth Model (SCGM)
    AFLU provides small business capital to young women who already have or want to start small businesses. The program includes mentorship, financial literacy training, and business monitoring to help them grow sustainable income sources.

    2. Community Mothers Business Club (CMBC)
    A community group where teenage mothers and young women meet regularly to learn practical income-generating skills, share experiences, receive mentorship, and support each other in building small businesses.

    3. Mama’s Safe Space
    A supportive environment where vulnerable young mothers and girls can access guidance, emotional support, life-skills training, and community discussions on personal development, parenting, and self-confidence.

    4. Financial Literacy and Entrepreneurship Training
    Workshops and mentorship sessions that teach beneficiaries how to manage money, save, plan small businesses, and grow their income responsibly.

     

    5. Emergency Support and Referral Services
    Through Mama’s Helpline, AFLU connects vulnerable women experiencing domestic violence or exploitation with local authorities, counselors, or community support systems.

    1. Small Business Startup Capital – $4,000
    Seed funding to support teenage mothers and young women to start or grow small businesses such as vegetable selling, snack making, hairdressing, and small retail shops.

    2. Entrepreneurship & Financial Literacy Training – $1,500
    Training materials, mentorship sessions, and workshops to help beneficiaries manage money, run businesses, and save.

    3. Program Activities & Safe Space Meetings – $2,000
    Support for community meetings, mentoring sessions, and group activities for young mothers under the Community Mothers Business Club.

    4. Emergency Support for Vulnerable Mothers – $1,000
    Basic emergency assistance such as food support, medical help, or urgent needs for vulnerable young mothers and their children.

    5. Program Monitoring & Mentorship – $1,500
    Transport and field visits to monitor businesses, mentor beneficiaries, and track progress.

    6. Administration & Communication – $2,000
    Basic operational costs such as communication, printing, coordination, and outreach activities.
