Centre for social responsibility and accountability (CESRA) is an NGO with its headquarter in Kenya. CESRA serves all parts of Africa by offering charity accreditation to all nonprofit organizations in Africa.

Our charity accreditation process is an annual process that begins with an onsite review and a strict process of applying charity to meet all our 15 standards of charity accountability.

Our main goal is to prepare charitable organizations in Africa to operate at the highest standard of accountability so that donors can give with peace of mind.

Our accreditation process is strict and non-biased as it presents the true picture of a charity to the prospective funders and CSR practitioners.

CESRA is the only Charity accrediting organization committed to helping donors to donate wisely in Africa.

HOW CESRA CAN HELP DONORS 

Due Diligence:   Due diligence will usually involve judging the quality and completeness of initial information obtained from an accreditation process of a charity.

Accreditation:  Every 12 months, the subject charity will need to complete a full questionnaire and submit supporting documents for a current review in relation to the CESRA Charity Standards of accountability.

Monitoring and reporting: Where Funders and CSR initiatives give money to charities, it’s vital to ensure that adequate ‘monitoring’ takes place. CESRA can help the funding organization in monitoring and taking appropriate steps to verify the proper use of Funds.

Charity Fraud Alerts: CESRA identifies and investigates apparent misconduct or mismanagement in the administration of charities and take remedial or protective action in connection with such misconduct or mismanagement.

HOW CESRA CAN HELP A CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION

Seal of Excellence:  CESRA will provide your charity with this seal that has the assurance, both internally and among your stakeholders, that you have been tested and found to be compliant with the CESRA set of standards of charity accountability.

Marketing and online presence: You will be entitled to display the CESRA’s Accredited Seal on your organization’s documents, website, and appeals.

Funding Advantage: Your organization will have a detailed profile in the online Accredited Charities’ directory*. Your profile will be searchable by donors on our directory according to the regions in which you serve.

Networking: You will be part of a unique and special community, including a partners-only Facebook group, and partners-only gatherings around your region. This will provide opportunities to learn from other like-minded charities in your area.

Volunteers:  Members will attract volunteers through our online volunteer platform
