Promote afforestation and combat climate change. The event was Organized by Hope foundation movement in partnership with Boychild love organization, CESRA, Black coffee movement and Slow Food Kenya.

The school is located near the Dundori forest in a serene environment,conducive for learning.

The main activity of the day was tree planting, both indigenous and fruit trees.Other activities included: mentorship, talent show, fun and games.The day commenced with entertainment from the students, followed by motivational talks while tree planting was the final activity.

The topics for the motivational talks included drugs and drug abuse, healthy relationship, career choices and mental health.

MENTAL HEALTH

Mental health is a state of mental well-being that enables people to cope with the stresses of life, realize their abilities, learn well and work well, and contribute to their community. It includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel and act.

HOW TO HAVE A HEALTHY MIND

-Set goals and priorities. Decide what must get done now and what can wait. Learn to say “no” to new tasks if you start to feel like you’re taking on too much. Try to appreciate what you have accomplished at the end of the day.

Practice gratitude. Remind yourself daily of things you are grateful for. Be specific. Write them down or replay them in your mind.

Focus on positivity. Identify and challenge your negative and unhelpful thoughts.

Recognize your Self-worth and understand the importance of mental well-being.

Self-appreciation by understanding that each one of us is unique and valuable thus it’s crucial to nurture your mind and soul with positive thoughts and actions.

Be proud of who you are ,this will raise your self-esteem.

Black coffee movement is a Youth based that focuses on creating a mental health awareness among the youth (the disabled) and also advocates for rights of persons living with disabilities .
