In a significant move to support those in need, the Centre for Social Responsibility and Accountability (CESRA) has donated 25,000/= to the Malaika Initiative for People with Disability. This donation will help the charity address its most pressing challenge—securing adequate funding to pay for an occupational therapist who provides daily care to individuals with disabilities.
The Malaika Initiative provides essential therapy and support services to people with disabilities. However, the cost of the occupational therapist, currently 1,000 Ksh per visit, is not enough to sustain the high-quality care required. With CESRA’s funding, the charity will now be able to ensure continuous, professional therapy for those who rely on it.
Julie Nyagah, Chief Executive Officer of CESRA, expressed her support: “We are proud to partner with organizations like Malaika, who are making such a profound difference in the lives of people with disabilities. This donation will ensure that the crucial therapy services continue and that the dedicated staff are adequately supported.”
Grace Nguguna, a representative of Malaika Initiative, also shared her gratitude: “The donation from CESRA will help us continue offering vital therapy services without interruption, enabling us to better serve individuals with disabilities and provide the care they deserve.”
