Tree Planting Initiative: Advancing SDG 15 through Collaborative Efforts
CESRA, in partnership with New Age Action Africa (NAAA), has launched a transformative 10-year Tree Planting Initiative aimed at planting 10 million trees across Kenya. This ambitious project directly supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 15, which focuses on life on land and combating desertification. By addressing critical environmental challenges, the initiative promotes ecological sustainability and community engagement. Local communities will play a pivotal role in planting and maintaining the trees, fostering a sense of environmental stewardship and creating valuable livelihood opportunities. This project not only enhances biodiversity and combats climate change but also strengthens community resilience and supports sustainable development. Through this collaborative effort, CESRA and NAAA are committed to making a lasting impact on Kenya's environment and society.
Poverty Alleviation through Accessible Kiosks Project for people living with disability
The CESRA Accessible Kiosks Project is a 6-year initiative designed to support 600 individuals with disabilities across Kenya by providing them with fibreglass kiosks for small retail and grocery businesses. Each kiosk will be accessible, durable, and tailored to meet the needs of the beneficiaries. This initiative addresses economic exclusion faced by disabled individuals and aims to reduce the stigma and social isolation they often experience.
CSR Accreditation Project
CESRA offers a comprehensive and free CSR Accreditation process that recognizes companies demonstrating a strong commitment to social and environmental responsibility. This accreditation not only highlights the company’s efforts but also encourages support for at least one project or activity from an accredited charitable organization within CESRA’s network. This approach fosters a collaborative environment where businesses and nonprofits work together for the common good. CESRA’s online platform serves as a central hub for showcasing the impactful work of CSR practitioners. It features innovative and sustainable practices adopted by companies committed to making a real difference. Through stories, case studies, and best practices, CESRA highlights the efforts of CSR leaders who are shaping a more responsible and ethical business landscape.
Empowering Charities: Annual Workshop on Accreditation and CSR Collaboration
Every year, CESRA organizes a 2-day training workshop titled Building Capacity for Impact: Strengthening Charitable Organizations. This workshop is designed to enhance the operations of charitable organizations by focusing on best practices in transparency, effectiveness, and accreditation. We collaborate with CSR practitioners who participate in the training to provide valuable insights into how they allocate and manage their CSR funds. With flexible scheduling based on the needs of participants, the workshop offers a unique opportunity for charities to understand the funding landscape, navigate the accreditation process, and align their efforts with the highest standards. This annual event is essential for building capacity, strengthening impact, and fostering accountability in the nonprofit sector.
Crowdfunding project- For Accredited charities
CESRA organizes and supports crowdfunding initiatives aimed at addressing the most pressing needs within communities. Accredited charities that demonstrate clear project needs can participate in this program, where CESRA manages the distribution of funds according to the specific project requirements. Our transparent approach ensures that contributions are allocated efficiently and that every penny is spent as intended. We monitor the use of funds meticulously to guarantee that they achieve their intended impact, enhancing trust and effectiveness in the charitable sector. This initiative supports impactful projects and fosters accountability, ensuring that donations make a real difference in the lives of those served.
Miss. Corporate ambassador - A CSR project
The Miss Corporate Pageant, organized annually by the Center for Social Responsibility and Accountability (CESRA) since 2015, recognizes the achievements of professional women across Kenyan counties. This event celebrates women's contributions to the corporate world and highlights the importance of corporate ethics and career advancement. Following the CSR Video Contest, which is an integral part of CESRA’s activities, the Miss Corporate Pageant will take place immediately after. The CSR ambassador who narrates the winning video of the contest will be featured in the Miss Corporate World contest. This transition ensures that the recognition of outstanding CSR efforts and the celebration of professional women occur seamlessly, with the Gala event serving as a platform to announce the CSR Video Contest winner and crown Ms. Corporate World. This dual approach emphasizes CESRA’s commitment to promoting CSR and celebrating the role of women in advancing both corporate and societal goals.
CSR Awards - CSR Video Contest
CESRA warmly invites you to showcase your distinctive CSR projects in our upcoming contest, where you can submit entries highlighting various facets of your CSR endeavors. Initiated to commend members seamlessly integrating CSR initiatives, this contest aims to provide a distinguished platform, akin to a festival of short documentary films, for brands pushing the boundaries of excellence in CSR within their workplaces. Entries should be short documentaries not exceeding 3 minutes, showcasing innovative CSR initiatives and their profound positive impacts on individuals, society, and the environment.
Charity Accreditation Project
CESRA plays a crucial role in accrediting charitable organizations, ensuring that donations are directed to worthy causes. This process involves a thorough evaluation of charities to confirm they meet high standards of transparency and effectiveness. The accreditation costs 30,000 Kenyan Shillings, with CESRA sponsoring 20,000 of that amount. The remaining 10,000 is typically covered by the charity. However, we are appealing to donors and CSR practitioners to step in and cover the 10,000 KSh upfront fee, relieving charities of this financial burden. By sponsoring this process, members help CESRA maintain the integrity of the charitable sector and ensure that donor funds are used responsibly.
